Robert Julian was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Higuey, Dominican Republic. He studied in the Caribbean island but would spend summers in New York City with his brother and parents. Robert earned both Bachelors & Masters degrees in Film & Video at the City College of New York. There, he also finished his thesis film "Visa de Cuatro Puertas" thanks to a grant awarded to him by New Line Cinema.
In 2006 he earned a Professional Diploma in Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston. At Berklee he completed extensive studies in composition, arrangement, orchestration and conducting. He was also a guitar principal at Berklee.
Robert is an extremely versatile composer with a keen eye for spotting films; and a firm believer that in scoring "less is (almost) always more."
